緊急事態宣言が出されてからは何となく遊びに行ったり、外食に行ったりするのが憚られますね。我が家でも、2月頭にGoToフグ旅行をしようと思っていたがキャンセルすることにした。そんな中ですが今日は鎌倉市民検診の予約をしてあった日で、人が多く集まる病院に行くことに多少の戸惑いはあったが、自らの健康のためだから私とこなつママは行くことにした。
It’s awkward to go on a trip or eat out after the state of emergency is declared. We were planning to travel in early February but decided to cancel. Meanwhile, today was the day when I had made an appointment for a routine examination for Kamakura citizens, and although I was a little confused about going to a hospital where many people gather, my wife and I should go because of our own health. 総合病院としては規模は小さいが、ここが湘南記念病院。

駐車場からの通用口は閉鎖され、表玄関にまわり、そこで検温と問診を受けて中に入る。例年に比べると検診に来ている人はやや少ないように感じられた。

今日から群馬に出張で来ています。TVでもネットでも大雪のニュースが流れていますが、今日も来る途中に何度か車の計器盤に「路面凍結注意」の表示が出たりした。

今朝は七草粥です。右の小皿は梅干し＆つぼ漬け昆布。
毎年7日にはこれが出てくるので体内カレンダーもこれを待ってる感じ。

スカンディアでささっとランチして帰ってきました。
We had quick lunch in Scandia and came back.
今年は大きな神社に初詣に行くのは憚られるので家から徒歩5分の龍口明神へお参りに行くことにしました。
We did Hatsumoude today! Hatsumoude is the first shrine visit of the year. So we went to visit Ryukomyōjin-shrine, a 5-minute walk from our house.
ここが龍口明神社。鶴岡八幡宮などと比べたら参拝者は1/100にも及ばないくらい。
This is Ryukomyō Shrine.
ワンコは途中までしか入れないので、こなつはここで待機することに。
The dog can only be put in halfway, so Konatsu is waiting here.
お参りが終わったときにお友達ワンコのスコット君に会った。
When the visit was over, we met Scott.
僅か10分で初詣は終了です。
Hatsumoude was finished in just 10 minutes.

2021年になりました。今年も初日の出を見に行き、そのままこなつの散歩に向かうことから始まりました。
It’s 2021. This morning, I went to see the first sunrise of the year and went for a walk with Konatsu and may daughter.
海の近くまで行くと、初日の出を見に来た人たちが大勢だし、道路も大渋滞だ。
When I went near the sea, there were a lot of people who came to see the first sunrise of the year, and the road was in heavy traffic.
In Japan, people believe Toshigami-sama, the Japanese deity of the year, comes with the first dawn, so it is customary for people to join their hands in prayer to ask for well-being for the year at the sight of the first sunrise.
海岸沿いを走っているときにちょうど陽が登り始めた。

昨日までの二日間は家の大掃除をして、今日はあれこれ食材を買いに行くことになった。
Year-end is busy preparing for the New Year. I cleaned my house for two days until yesterday, and today I’m going to buy some ingredients for the New Year.
紀伊国屋に行ったら駐車場が満車のため提携駐車場を案内され、こんな路地に入っていく。

私は知らなかったが、ここの路地にこんなホテルがいつの間にかできていた。最上階は広いテラスが付いたスイートルームらしい。

このあと何店か回って午前中でお買物が終了。

午後の早い時間からママは準備を始め、この時はキッシュの生地を作っている。
My wife started preparing early in the afternoon, this time baking quiche dough.
時間が経つにつれ次々と料理が完成し、鶏の丸焼きも完成。
As time went by, the dishes were completed one after another, and a roasted whole chiken was also completed.
これでクリスマスの食卓がすべて揃った。我が家はクリスチャンではないけれど、こういう気分を楽しむのは悪くないね。

年賀状の原稿を書き印刷しようという段になってプリンターの試し刷りをしたら、文字が二重になって印刷される。取説に従ってヘッドクリーニングやら何やらやってみたが解決しない。おそらくヘッドの交換が必要だろう。いろいろ検討したが結局買い替えることにした。
When I try to print a New Year’s post cards, the characters are printed in duplicate. I tried head cleaning according to the instruction manual, but it didn’t work. Probably the head needs to be replaced. After considering various things, I decided to buy a new one.
Canonの新しい機種だから、これにはこの先10年は働いてもらいましょう。
It’s a new model from Canon, so I’ll have it work for the next 10 years.
みんなの近況も書き添えて印刷完了、これで元旦には届くでしょう。

シニアの域に入ったこなつだけれど、これだけ走れるのを見たら私は安心。まだまだ元気でいられそうだね。

午前中、ちょっと暇な時間ができたので江ノ島まで行ってみた。

クリスマスが近づきつつあり、家の近所でもライトアップしているお宅が増えてきた。我が家では以前はクリスマスツリーを飾っていたが最近は出さなくなったので、せめて玄関だけでもとこなつママがデコレーションした。
Christmas is approaching, and more and more homes are lit up in the neighborhood. I used to decorate the Christmas tree at my house, but recently I haven’t put it out, so my wife decorated it at least at the entrance.

昔はこなつにもサンタの帽子を被せたりしたけど、それもやらなくなった。

日曜日のお昼時、3人で七里ヶ浜のダブルドアーズにランチに行った。

見慣れた風景のこの場所は日曜日のわりに人が少なかった。

海の目の前のこの店がダブルドアーズ。サーフボードが無造作に置いてあるのが湘南らしい。この店はテラス席も店内もワンコ連れOKなのです。
This restaurant in front of the sea is Double Doors. The surfboards are randomly placed, giving it a Shonan-like atmosphere. You can enter this restaurant with a dog on the terrace or inside.
田舎の海辺の古びたレストランという感じが落ち着く。
The feeling of an old restaurant on the beach in the countryside feels at ease.
店の隅っこの席だったので、こなつも居心地良さそうだ。
It was a seat in the corner of the eatery, so Konatsu seems to be comfortable.

こなつと暮らすVer.3を始めて約4ヶ月が過ぎましたが、ブログをココログからワードプレスに変更して以来、海外からのアクセスがとても増えています。おそらくドメインliving-with-dog.com を取得できたこともその一因と思いますが、最近ずっとブログの文面を日本語と英語を併記しているのはそういう理由からです。以下は4ヶ月間のアクセス集計。
It’s been about 4 months since I started this blog Ver3. Since I changed my blog from Cocolog to WordPress, the number of accesses from overseas has increased significantly. 昨日、私とママのそれぞれの菩提寺に行ってきました。ママ方は菊川にあり、私の方は藤枝にあるので一日に両方のお墓参りを済ませるのが大体のパターン。
Yesterday, my wife and I went to visit our ancestors’ graves. The graves are located in Kikugawa and Fujieda, so we can visit both graves in one day.
行く途中、東名高速の富士川SAで休憩。ここは富士山がきれいに見える場所です。
On the way, take a break at Fujikawa SA on the Tomei Expressway. This is the place where you can see Mt. Fuji beautifully.
こなつはドライブが大好きで、走ってる間はほとんど寝ることがありません。
Konatsu loves to drive and rarely sleeps while driving.
富士川から１時間半で菊川のお寺に到着。ここの裏庭はこなつが大好きな場所で､､､

墓参りの後はいつもこの場所を散歩するのです。
After visiting the grave, Konatsu always takes a walk in this place.
次は藤枝にある我が家の菩提寺に行くのですが、その前に藤枝の蕎麦屋「木むら」で昼ご飯。
Next, we will go to our family temple in Fujieda, but before that, we will have lunch at soba restaurant “Kimura”.
ざる蕎麦と小エビ天丼のランチセット。

そして長楽寺に到着。もう陽が傾き始めている。

このお寺はワンコ連れで境内を歩くことができるので、こなつも一緒にお墓参り。
You can walk around the precincts of this temple with your dog, so visit the grave with Konatsu.

6:40amの七里ヶ浜、今朝は奇麗な朝焼けでした。

毎年、元旦には初日の出を見に来る車でこの道は大渋滞してしまうのです。
Every year on New Year’s Day, many cars come to see the first sunrise of the year and there is heavy traffic here.

ここで一つ訂正をします。手前にいる黒ラブのボビーちゃんですが、その名前からして私はずっとボビーは男の子だと思っていました。ここでも「ボビー君」と書いていたのですが正しくは女の子だという事が今朝発覚！
I will make one correction here. Bobby, a Labrador retriever in the foreground, has always thought that Bobby was a boy because of the name. I used to write “boy” here as well, but it was discovered this morning that Bobby was a girl!
こちらはヒナちゃん、間違いなく女の子。

早朝はだんだん冬らしい寒さになってきた。
It was getting colder and colder in the early morning.
またですか？と言われそうだけど1泊で出かけてきました。しかも近場だから、先日の軽井沢に比べると荷物は殆ど手ぶらみたいなもの。
You might be asked “Are you traveling again?”, But I went on an overnight trip. This time it’s near, so compared to Karuizawa the other day, the luggage is almost empty.
まずは箱根湯本で昼ご飯
First of all, lunch at Hakone Yumoto
以前ここで食べた時にとても美味しかったので、また来たいと思っていた。
When I came here before, it was so delicious that I wanted to come again.
左上が私の酸辣湯面。その他の3つがママのナントカ定食（ハーフラーメン・薄皮揚げワンタン・ちまき）。 記憶の通りどれも美味しかった。
It’s difficult to explain in English, but as I remembered, everything was delicious.
そして東急ハーベスト熱海伊豆山に到着。
And arrived at Tokyu Harvest Atami Izusan.
ここはどこからでも良い眺めが堪能できるのです。
We can enjoy a good view from anywhere here.
夕方のこなつの散歩を済ませて部屋に戻ると､､､

夜の海もキレイです。
夕飯は今回もテイクアウトのお弁当を事前に予約しておいたので、部屋でこなつと一緒に食べることになりました。
For dinner, we had reserved a take-out lunch in advance, so we had dinner with Konatsu in the room.
私は鰻とろろ弁当。これで結構ボリュームあります。
I ordered a boiled eel & grated yam bento. Even this has a lot of volume.

こなつは目の前にお弁当を広げてもこれに食い付こうとせず自分のフードを待っている。エライねえ！ いつもこうとは限りませんが､､､
Even if Konatsu has a lunch box in front of her, she doesn’t try to bite into it and waits for her meal. Great! It’s not always the case, but this time it was good …
こうして1日目が終了です。
翌朝、初島の手前に降り注ぐ朝陽が神々しく見えるほど。旭日旗にも見えます。
The next day, the morning sun falling in front of Hatsushima Island looks celestial.
朝食は和食レストランにしました。
Breakfast is at a Japanese restaurant.
朝からこんなに食べるのどうかと思いながらも完食してしまった。
I wondered if I would eat this much from the morning, but I ate it completely.
本当は2～3泊してゆっくりしたい気分ですが、今回はSafeStayのワンコ像に見送られながらチェックアウト。
We really feel like staying for a couple of nights, but this time we were sent off by the Safe-Stay dog statue and checked out.
毎年この時期になると植木屋さんが庭の手入れをしに来てくれる。年末が近づいたなあという感じ。
Every year at this time of year, a gardener comes to take care of the garden. It feels like the end of the year is approaching.
こなつが網戸の内側から外の様子を窺っている。
Konatsu is watching the outside.
網戸を開けると飛び出してきて、そこにいるのは誰？怪しいやつ？と吠える。
When I opened the screen door, Konatsu popped out and barked, “Who is there? A suspicious one?”
今年は邪魔な木はどんどん切ってもらうように依頼したので庭がすっきり。（し過ぎたくらい）
This year, I asked him to cut the obstructive trees more and more, so the garden was too clean.
