今回は、海外からアクセスしてくれている方々に日本のお盆を紹介します。
In Japan, August 13-15 is the period known as Obon. Obon is a Japanese custom in which the souls of ancestors return home to stay for a few days.
During this period, three meals are offered daily at the Buddhist altar in each house to offer food to the returning souls.
The first day begins with a “welcoming fire” ceremony in front of the entrance. It is said that the souls of ancestors return toward this welcoming fire.
On the last day, we light the fire called “Sending Fire” once again to send off the souls of the ancestors.
Konatsu participated in this event together and welcomed my mother who had just passed away the other day.
